Freelance English Speaking Drivers in Moscow, Russia
Rate guide

Airport rides are $80.  From any airport around Moscow to anywhere in the city. Parking and waiting are included. Any time, no extra fee when traffic is standing still; no discounts when the road situation is easy. This does not depend on who meets you, with what vehicle, and how many persons. Any driver of our team is expected to charge same rates. And to operate in the same style.

NB. We are not the cheapest. You can find $40 offers out there. But then you may be charged extra for waiting, for the number of passengers, for oversized luggage or what not. The style in this country is to avoid giving you full and clear information. Still, if you are motivated by economy only, we are not your choice.

Trips from Domodedovo or Vnukovo to Sheremetyevo(about 90km) are $140.

Pickups and drop-offs at train stations are $40. In most cases, I guess.

The hourly rate is $25/hour. One hour is added, eg. if you hire a driver for three hours you will be asked to pay for four to cover his or her trip to you.

Full day rate, eg. when travelling out of town, is $250 + direct expenses. With long-distance travel, when fuel cost is significant, it can be added.

The out of town rate is actually good. Most Moscow people have a fear of venturing into the countryside, which is often perceived as a different and hostile world. Our direct costs are usually minimal; the cheapest hotels are entirely OK; I personally don't mind and in fact would enjoy just camping as long as the weather is not too bad. If you hire a typical Moscow driver however you will be expected to pay for "proper" hotel accommodation.

If your driver does not speak sufficient English to do his job my translation support is available. You can always get me to relay messages over the phone. No extra fee for that.

But after translating 10 messages I'll turn ugly on the driver and make yet another attempt to make them lean English! (When writing this I have Dima in mind. Hope he gets the hint.)

It is entirely OK to ask us to stop by the shop or the bank. Or by the train station to buy tickets. No extra fee for that. Another difference between us and real drivers who, while quoting a low price, will keep on adding to it for waiting, parking, loading luggage etc.
