Until 2020, Moscow will build almost 20 km of sub-ground lines annually

As the WP has already reported, this week the Government of Moscow approved a programme for the forward-looking development of the metropolitan until 2020. The Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, has assured the city that it will concentrate all financial and material resources.

And that's understandable, because it's only planned to build 150 km of new lines in eight years, which is one and a half times the size of Moscow now. As the chief architect of Moscow, Alexander Kuzmin, said, "This was not even in Stalin's Batish when they built a maximum of 7 km a year, five-year-old 25, in the best years 30." There are 70 stations on new branches! The figures are impressive, but it was difficult to imagine what was behind them until yesterday the new Moscow Metropolitan Scheme was introduced. It's worth looking at the yellow-marked stations that are already under construction, 45 of them, as the grand plans become clear!

So it's time to take over this scheme and consider carefully when the subway comes to your house. The authorities promise that the number of residents of the capital in areas not yet covered will decrease from 22 to 13 per cent. The most active building is in the east and south-east of the capital, from where it is difficult to reach the centre of the city, roads are so overloaded. The construction of the Third Riding Contour (the first is the existing ring line, the second is the central transplants within it) will make life easier for all, without exception, citizens. The thing is, she's gonna make connections between all the lines and passengers, and she won't have to go anywhere, like now, to cross one branch to another.

For the time being, the only radius in the acceding territories is from the South-West subway station to the future business centre. New lines will come as the new lands of the Grand Moscow are built.
